Art Alive

Art Alive is the Motto for Term 2 this year. Just 48 hours ago, the year 7 & 8s has been involved in a Art rotation. That means different rooms goes to different classes to study different Artist. The artisan that I mostly admired was Henri Matisse... but we will talk about him mmmaybe in this next paragraph.

Matisse was a French artist (painter), he is known for his use of bright colours and the pacific patterns.

Here is the only painting that I have accomplished during the past few days. It was long but it took me an effort to make this happen. I am proud of this piece of art.

Well this is it have a nice day.

Last Week Of Term 1 2012

Wow! wasn’t term 1 just brilliant. What’s so brilliant about this term is that we have been involved in fun activities like camp & the school picnic.

Being in room 18 has helped me improve my maths, reading, and writing with Mr Barks help. Ever since Mr Barks moved me away from Nezinli, (work buddy) I had more time to finish off my assignments and had a better opportunity to stay focused.

During the past few weeks I have been improving my maths skills and catching up to my writing level. I have learned to use statistics and be cybersmart in the right time, at the right place, and the right attitude. At room 18 I am trying to finish my mihimihi.

Honestly I just can’t wait for Term 2, I hope it will be twice as fun as last term.

Funeral Of The Tongan King

This writing is put in my own words and I thought I could share this with you. The story you are about to read is from the New Zealand Herald.

It has been confirmed that Georg Tupou the 5th (King of Tonga) has died in the hospital of Hong Kong. He suffered from a kidney removal in United States last year, and I think he had cancer during the operation. It has been told that the funeral is going to be shorter than usual.

The funeral will be held Today at the Capital Nuku’alofa. I’m sure that my Aunties and Uncles in Tonga will be at the funeral. Maori Affairs Minister Pita Sharples, Labour leader David Shearer and many more will also be on the first flight to visit the deceased ruler.

On August the 1st the Kingdom of Tonga will crown Tupou’s brother the new King. (They both have the same name, but he will be called George Tupou the 5th.)

It is time to say our final farewell to the king, all I can say is that he will be dearly missed and there will be a piece of him in the heart of Tonga. This is a very blue day for tonga. The coffin was carried by 150 pallbearers and is burried in lavish state funeral

Farewell.

here are some of the pictures from the funeral.

School Picnic

In the not so sunny day, was the day for the Point England picnic. As our class starts to stroll along the freshly cut grass, I begin to see the golden sand in the Point England Reserve Beach.

We sat down and waited for Mr Brut's Kare Kia, we say Amen and put our bags next to benches. Ahhh the nice cold breeze of the wind whistling in my ears and the sound of sunscreen that just slopped into my hands.

The sun was shinning bright like never before. I sat down and watched some teachers set up games, at the corner of my eye I saw kids that made a mud pool. By the time it was lunch time I was starving so I took out my sandwich and just demolished It.

After playing touch with my friends, I went to go and see students and teachers doing
some robotic dances and singing karaoke. As I was dehydrated, me and my friends were seeking for shade under the trees and just hang out there. When the siren for team 5 went on I went and just dip ed myself in the sea. That was really refreshing and that would've made my day.
